The Lađa Marathon is an annual amateur sports competition held in the Neretva River Valley. Traditional autochthonous boats, vessels characteristic of the Neretva valley, participate in this race.

The competition takes place once a year, more precisely on the second Saturday in August, on a course that stretches for an impressive 22,500 meters. More than 400 rowers take part in this race that runs along the Neretva River and its backwaters, starting from Metković all the way to Ploče.
The Lađa Marathon has become the largest maritime sports event in this part of Europe over the years and one of the most watched events in Croatia.
Every year it attracts an increasing number of rowers and spectators who want to be part of this unique event.
